Ningbo Shine Magnetic Technology Co., Ltd. offers high-performance neodymium magnets specifically designed for stepper motors. Manufactured from sintered neodymium-iron-boron (Sintered NdFeB) rare-earth permanent magnet material, this product series features high energy product, high coercive force, and excellent thermal stability. It is widely used in the rotor assemblies of various permanent magnet stepper motors (PM stepper motors) and hybrid stepper motors.
As the core permanent magnet component of a stepper motor, these magnets directly determine the motor’s output torque, positioning accuracy, and operational stability. Compared to traditional ferrite magnets, neodymium magnets provide stronger magnetic torque, enabling the motor to achieve superior performance at lower current levels.
Products are available in grades ranging from N35 to N54, with a maximum energy product (BH)max exceeding 50 MGOe. A high energy product means stronger holding torque is generated for the same volume, helping stepper motors achieve faster start-stop response and more precise positioning control.
To address temperature rise issues in stepper motors during long-term operation or under high-load conditions, we offer a complete series of temperature-resistant grades:
N Series: Maximum operating temperature 80°C, suitable for standard operating conditions
M Series (N52M): Maximum operating temperature 100°C
H Series (N50H): Maximum operating temperature 120°C
SH Series (N48SH): Maximum operating temperature 150°C
UH Series (N45UH): Maximum operating temperature 180°C
EH Series (N40EH): Maximum operating temperature 200°C
UH/EH-grade high-temperature neodymium magnets are particularly suitable for enclosed motors, automated equipment requiring long-term continuous operation, and industrial applications in high-temperature environments.
Supports single-pole or multipolar magnetization, with customized magnetization available based on the customer’s required number of pole pairs. Multipolar magnetization ensures the formation of precisely alternating N and S poles on the rotor surface, which works in concert with the pulsed magnetic field generated by the stator windings to achieve stable output at standard step angles such as 1.8°, 7.5°, and 15°.
The primary product form is the ring magnet (Ring Magnet), though arc-shaped segment magnets (Arc Segment Magnet) can also be provided upon request. With an outer diameter range of 6–200 mm, an inner diameter range of 2–180 mm, a wall thickness range of 2–30 mm, and a magnetized thickness range of 0.5–50 mm, these products can meet the rotor size requirements for the vast majority of micro-stepper motors, precision stepper motors, and industrial-grade stepper motors on the market.
Neodymium magnets for stepper motors are widely used in motor rotor assemblies across the following fields:
3D printers: Precise control of nozzle and platform movement
CNC machine tools: High-precision feed motion
Office automation equipment: Paper feeding and positioning mechanisms in scanners, copiers, and printers
Medical devices: Precision drives in infusion pumps and analytical instruments
Security surveillance: Rotation control for PTZ cameras
Industrial Automation: Robotic joints and conveyor drives in automated production lines
Automotive Electronics: Electric rearview mirror adjustment and window lift motors
In these applications, neodymium permanent magnet rotors provide higher torque density, enabling motors to deliver greater driving force within limited installation spaces while maintaining smooth low-speed operation and rapid start-stop response capabilities.
